The problem of Image in the School of Chartres

Summary/Abstract: The problem of image in the School of Chartres needs a very generous approach and analysis concerning the imaginary representations; therefore, there are also aspects of psychological and spiritual nature implicated, but also artistic ones. This study resumes in discussing a few commentaries on Plato΄s Timaios and Boethius΄s De Trinitate, two fundamental works for this subject matter. The aim of this article is to prove that the main function of the imaginary representation is to mediate between the transcendent form and the matter itself.
