Summary/Abstract: The article presents major monuments on the track of Old Polish Industrial District and also three tracks where postindustrial structures were found. The first example is Technology Monuments track of Silesia Region, where there are managed rationally particular buildings thanks to the engagement of many persons and institutions. The second instance is the industrial art monuments being for many years under professional care and patronage of Technology Museum in Warsaw. The third example is a situation when regional authorities and conservation services do not feel obliged to take care of unique postindustrial buildings on their own area, although they have full awareness of their historical wealth. There is not enough sense of care possible to make proper maintenance and rational use of so called lasting ruin, the example of which is the nineteenth-century construction of blast-furnace “Josef” in Samsonow.
