The Tsar Court in the Russian state of the middle of the 16th century

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the highly controversial questions, concerning the make-up of the Tsar Court in the Russian state of the 16th century. The author refutes the traditional view held by many historians that all noblemen mentioned in Dvorovaya tetrad' of the 1550s belonged to the Tsar Court, and that «tysyachniki» and «vybornye dvoryane» were the same people.
