Summary/Abstract: Drawing on the information of Nikita Choniates and Russian chronicles the author finds out the time of conclusion of the military-political alliance between the Byzantine Emperor Alexios III and Galicia-Volyn prince Roman Mstislavich (1200), followed by the marriage of Russian prince to the niece of the Emperor and military campaigns of Russian forces against Danube Kumans.
