THE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS ON SERBIAN FINANCIAL SYSTEM

Summary/Abstract: The culmination of financial crisis on world market in October 2008. is the issue debated not only by economists, but also by politicians, philosophers and sociologists. U.S. regulators (FED, SEC) and the rating agencies directly provoked crisis by their negligent operations, creating conditions for the emergence and escalation of the crisis to unimagined proportions. Sometimes the advantage of the financial markets, their global character, in the new conditions is the largest weakness. The aim of this paper is to present the main causes of crisis on international financial markets, the measures that governments and central banks in many countries have taken in order to mitigate its effects, as well as the impact of crisis on domestic financial system.
