Summary/Abstract: During the last two decades many central banks have significantly changed their monetary policy. Because of a lot negative impacts and consequences of inflation on economic growth and development, most central banks around the world in recent times have adopted inflation targeting as its monetary policy regime. In conditions of significantly disturbed economic growth the optimal monetary policy is the one which is flexible enough to support the inflation control goals and stimulate economic growth. The global financial crisis raised many questions for monetary policy creators. The answers to these questions should determine the furtherr "destiny" of inflation targeting. Therefore, the attempts of monetary policy innovation tend to introduce "improvements" of inflation targeting regime, with financial stability and real economy stabilization maintence, as additional targets.
