Summary/Abstract: The family was, is and will always be the basic cell of society. Thus, regardless of what happens in society, family is always affected, more or less, depending on the seriousness of the situation. WWI was one of the situations that affected both the family and individual institution, each member of the part. In this study try to introduce a link between the three demographic phenomena, birth, death and marriage family, especially families in Transylvania. As will further demonstrate, marriage is not only important in relation to family structures. It is true that marriage is one that records the number of marriages, or families based in a year, but birth is equally important, recording the number of children who are born into a family, and mortality is the death registered members family. All influence the development of family-based society, but society itself, through legislation, education, mental contagion, has an influence on families. Therefore in this study will try to capture an overview of the family, because it is not enough to know one aspect of actually to understand what happened with Transylvanian families in WWI.
