Summary/Abstract: Conceptualization of New Issues of Sociology of Literature. The paper deals with traditions and issues of sociology of literature with particular respect to mapping of its development in Slovakia and to important contributions from the history of the Slovak sociology of literature which have been unnoticed until now. From the general aspect the most topical problems of sociological approach to literature are changes in literature as a medium of culture in the context of the present boom of electronic media and then a more concrete subject-matter concerning changes of the system of the book culture (production, distribution, reception) in Slovakia in the period after 1989.
