Endowment capital and funding sources in non-profit organizations

Summary/Abstract: This study presents differences between endowment capital and flow capitals in the non-governmental sector in Poland. The authors emphasize the complexity of the financial strategy aiming at cumulating endowment capital that could increase the economic security of the third sector in the challenging financial times. This study presents the endowment as a source of financial stability for non-profit organizations that enables them to cover operating costs and secure funding of programmes. Stable endowment facilitates statutory activity and provides management boards, employees, as well as beneficiaries of the non-for-profit organizations with the greater sense of security.
