QUALITATIVE METHODS AND THE STUDY OF WOMEN’S LIFE STORIES IN THE CONTEXT OF WOMEN’S STUDIES

Summary/Abstract: Women’s studies deal with researching women’s issues. Women’s personal problems and experiences are treated here as matters with a social dimension which are reflected in public life. On these grounds, qualitative biographical studies help discover and learn about individual women’s life stories which have often been marginalized in scientific cognition. The article is dedicated to the method of qualitative research interviewing, hermeneutic interpretation and Life History Approach in the context of biographical studies in Women’s Studies.
