Summary/Abstract: In the contemporary world, among the many signs of the times there appears also a peculiar approach towards human corporality. Man’s outlook is becoming more important than man himself. It is often forgotten that the body is an expression of the human spirit. Man needs hope to live, he needs the Gospel in order to see the meaning and the value of his corporality. Karol Wojtyła (John Paul II) in his teaching stresses the point that in the face of the truth about creation, redemption and sanctification man`s body has its ultimate value. It helps to hear the "good news" about man, who "has flesh" and even "he is flesh," too. Man is endowed with the body by the Creator and it also participates in fulfilling God's image in man. Because of man`s flesh (man’s body) the human being can be an "unselfish gift from oneself" for the other person. Jesus Christ, the Word of the Father, "became flesh" in order to redeem man. In the power of the Holy Spirit man sanctifies himself as a person, also through his body. In this way he will achieve his fulfillment in the glory of Resurrection and in the communion with the Triune God. This communion will come true also at the personal level, that is also through the human body.
