Summary/Abstract: The subject of this study is the method of expressing the truth about Jesus’s resurrection and ascension in the contemporary religious and theological language, as well as the consequences of this type of understanding of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist. An example of such a correspondence is St Augustine’s concept of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist, which strongly influenced the subsequent theology. The proper understanding of the Eucharistic presence of Christ calls for an appropriate theological synthesis, which will take into consideration the following aspects: overcoming the forms of reduction of the truth about the Lord’s resurrection; the presence of Christ in the Eucharist is not a mere “spatial” presence, but a presence of a communion or inclusion; the presence in question is the anticipation of Christ’s presence in His eschatological completeness, which is empathised by the ecclesiastical dimension of the Eucharistic mystery; the Eucharist cannot be understood as a simple “upward rise” either, rather it presupposes and supports the construction of the Body of Christ in such a way that a Christian in their service is not only engaged in the worldly affairs, but they become a tool of the salutary presence of the Lord in the world.
