Summary/Abstract: From the many words used in Romanian to express “bribe”,Rodica Zafiu indicates the word Spaga as being most frequently used in the present-day vocabulary. According to the author of this article the word spaga has a more complex meaning and it succesfully replace the older word mita (of Slavic origin) or the Turkish origin terms bacsis,ciubuc,rusfet.
