Pomeranian Creativity Port. Examples of pro-enterepreneurial activities

Summary/Abstract: The article reports on the initiatives developed to support entrepreneurs in Pomerania Voivodeship in Poland. It begins by outlining the directions of economic development of the region. In the next section the authors look in more detail at some key elements of the programme for the local entrepreneurs, describing policy evolution from supporting clusters to the EU concept of smart specialisation. Next, they look at the issue of creating a comprehensive regional system of promotion, business information and investment servicing established through a 2011 initiative Invest in Pomerania. The article concludes with a brief description of INNOpomorze project to foster entrepreneurship, creativity and innovativeness of Pomerania.
