THE FUNCTION OF TIME AVERBIALS IN ORAL COMMUNICATION

Summary/Abstract: The adverbs of time acum, atunci, ieri, azi, maine (now, then, yesterday, today, tomorrow etc.) belong to the very diverse category of linguistic elements that appear in a statement in order to "reflect" its enunciation and introducing aspects of enunciative context, including temporal coordinates. The article aims at undelying the pragmatic behavior of these adverbs, taking account of differences arising between the level of discourse and the story in the texts belonging to everyday language.
