SADHI IN THE KOSOVIAN ALBANIAN

Summary/Abstract: Sadhi rules in the standard Albanian are well known and described - they are based on the phonetics of the southern Albanian, However the standard form of Albanian is also used on the territory with different dialectical background. Northern Albanian sandhi differa essentially from the sandhi occuring in the Standard form as well as in the southern Albanian dialects. Consequently, it may be supposed that sandhi rules appaearing in the literary Albanian used on the Geg area will differ from the ones used by Tosks. The article presents results of a preliminary investigations of the problem. the results confirm that sandhi rules applied by Kosovars in their form of Albanian. not only they are different, but also they are not applied consistently - which means that these are not rules but alivew phonetic processes.
