Summary/Abstract: This communication refers to a great personality and a great saint of the Church from the first Christian centuries, St. John Cassian, contemporary and disciple of St. John Chrysostom. The author makes a brief presentation of the life and work of St. John Cassian, highlighting the two chapters (II and III) from the first part of Monastic establishments. In the second chapter, he presents “The rule of prayers and psalms of the night”, and in third chapter, the author presents the canonical norm of prayers and daily psalms.
