Summary/Abstract: This study makes an foray in religious music education past from Muscel with its implications in the development of national musical heritage. There are penciled institutions where it has been learning religious music beginning from the first school supported by documents from 1669 where there is taught byzantine music, singers School from 1825, a private school from 1852 where is taught”from ecclesiastical books, byzantine music and four arithmetic papers”, a private school from Rucăr village, Muscel county or Theological Seminary for war orphans,founded in 1922. Books in Greek have been printed here in Romanian ( teaching across all the days - 1642), in Slavonic language, from here, we have many musical documents preserved in manuscript, spread in national or international funds( Athos Hill ) of some well known teachers and protopsalters, such as Nicolae Pandele, Toma Adrian and Toma Ganea, Gh Caciula etc. Great personalities of our ecclesiastic life have studied here: Pr. Prof. Petre Vintilescu or Justin Moisescu, the future patriarch of the Orthodox Church.
