Intellectual capital of Poland and the European Union countries

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the stock of intellectual capital of Poland and the EU-27 and to order the EU-27 countries in terms of the stock of intellectual capital. In the research four components of intellectual capital were identified: human capital, social capital, structural capital and the capital of development. The results of modeling showed that all specified components of intellectual capital had a positive impact on intellectual capital. Furthermore intellectual capital strongly and positively influences the level of economic development of EU countries. Poland was in the twenty first place in terms of the stock of intellectual capital and was among countries with the low stock of intellectual capital.
