Summary/Abstract: An analysis of Jiri Menzels "Larks on a String" – a film that describes the Stalinist terror in Czechoslovakia in the 1950s. The author argues that the film using a deconstruction of the style of socialist realism in film shows the reality of the epoch, for which reason the film was not shown to audiences for 20 years.
