Health Protection in the USA:Right or Privilege?

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the system of health protection in the USA, its key features, problems it faces and attempts for improvement of its functioning. Corresponding to the manner in which (residual) social state is organized, the American health protection system is rather rudimental, characterized by high costs and inequality in approach to and quality of health protection. Accordingly, general health situation of the nation is comparatively poorer than in developed market economy countries. So far, the attempts for reforms of the system yielded only limited and selective improvements, making America the only developed country without a universal health protection system.
