Summary/Abstract: After the death of King Alexander, Varaždin Sokol Society started an initiative to build the Sokol Home in his honor. Given to the pro-Yugoslav oriented city government, the project was approved, and the Town donated city land. Although the plans to build a Sokol Home, stadium and athletic track were made and the land was purchased and donated, the entire process stretched until 1941 when it was officially abandon. The political situation changed after founding Banovina Hrvatska (Croatian Banovina) when pro-Yugoslav programs were stopped. City Council expressed their displeasure with previously approved contract of donation, so just before the start of World War II in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the Sokol Home project in Varaždin was abandon.
