Summary/Abstract: The railway station, a modern public space, urban edifice and transport junction in the heart of a city, was borne out of the industrial revolution. For the public, they primarily represented technical objects of necessity, but their design and construction also subtly resonated and still resonates to social phenomena and urban development, as well as symbolic historical events.
