Summary/Abstract: The article presents an experiment conducted with the help of POMOR, a morphological analysis program. The author aims to answer two questions: 1. Have all word forms and lexemes which occur in the chosen literary sources been documented in the dictionary? 2. What impact would it have had on the lexicon of the Dictionary, had the lexicographers expanded the number of analysed works? It has become obvious that the original excerption did not provide a thorough yield. In the works in question we found a number of morphological forms and lexical items that were not incorporated in the dictionary. Disregarding plain human carelessness, system errors are noticeable too, e.g. the absolute lack of depreciative forms (e.g. {kapłany}). The additional analysis of two other novels (published in the same period as the novels included into material of the dictionary) has made it clear that the lexicon could easily have been enlarged and enriched. Additionally, the author tries to highlight the fact that the application of computers and suitable programs can make the efforts of linguists significantly easier and faster, moreover, it can broaden the horizons of research.
