Defining Name Entries in Alojzy Osiński’s {Bogactwa mowy polskiej}

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article was to identify the reasons which have guided Alojzy Osiński in the process of placing the definitions of names’ headwords in his dictionary of Polish language. The text presents the methods containing definitions and headwords without them. Meanings of names in the contained in the definitional descriptions have been identified, types of definitions in the analysed headwords have been found and characterized. The article also discusses the types of errors appearing in the process of names defining.
