Summary/Abstract: This article explores the intraexecutive conflict emerged between 2004-2008 involving Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and President Traian Basescu. I will analyse the main causes which led to the deterioration of the cooperation between the two executive leaders and the effects that were generated in political and institutional field. The study of intraexecutive relation brings back the debates about the romanian semipresidential regime: sharing the powers between the prime minister and the president, the ambiguity and overlap of the constitutional responsabilities or, possibly, a need to make some constitutional changes to avoid future conflicts and political crisis
