Summary/Abstract: Formation of a notion in the teaching of physics is a complex process related to its definition. Definition of a notion occurs in the process of discovering qualitative and quantitative properties of physical magnitudes. Once a qualitative property and the qualitative dependence between the given magnitude and other physical magnitudes have been established, can its definition be given. Notions can be defined by verbal definitions and the most general definition – algorithm.
