Summary/Abstract: The Bucharest ms. No. 1385, The Tale of Constantinople, in a number passages stands in marked contrast to the several Slavonic renditions, the Troitse-Sergiev Lavra ms. No. 773, Hilandar Slavic ms. 280, and the Chronograph Redaction of 1512. This study contrasts the accounts concerning a patriarch, Justinian, a wife, and the death of Constantine XI, comparing the similarities and differences among the passages. The author posits that the Bucharest ms. is a late seventeenth- century rendition.
