Summary/Abstract: It is the goal of this paper to emphasize the key aspects of modern quality management system (QMS), total quality management (TQM) and their influence on organizational structure and organizational processes which emerge from them, with special emphasis on their application in the Health Care sector. This paper presents the effort to contribute to the improvement of work in Health Care sector through application of QMS principles, TQM philosophy, as well as requirements of ISO 9000 standard. In the Health Care sector, quality system is influenced by various policies, goals, different manners of work, available resources and budget. However, it is important that attention is not placed on detailed application, since these changes can no longer be observed merely as modernization of Health Care institutions. Their primary goal is the development of partnership with private sector for the purpose of improvement of service quality, emphasizing social responsibility and provision of wide participation of patients in the process of decision making. Previously stated reasons show the importance of implementation of quality system in the Health Care sector, without which Health Care institution cannot be managed in a satisfactory way. The continuous process of quality management allows directing Health Care sector towards desired goal, where it is based on valid information on estimates of system functioning, which is gathered thorough supervision over implementation of set goals.
