Summary/Abstract: In the center of this paper stands one document from the archives of the Government Presidency in Istanbul (Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi), located in the Mühimme defter no. 105. The document is important because it provides us the answer on the question when the small fort in Lower Tuzla was actually built. From the table of contents of this document, it can clearly be seen that the small fort was built by the end of the 17th century when Bosnia and Herzegovina was affected by the Great Turkish War, beginning with the Siege of Wienna and ending with the Treaty of Karlowitz.
