Summary/Abstract: The world has undergone many rapid political, economic, and cultural changes. This gives a new structure to the relationship between the state, economy, and society. The structural crisis of capitalism, with the 1929 economic depression, brings on the necessity to reintroduce the presence of the state in economy. In this respect, Keynes suggested that the state should make directive decisions in order to ensure an effective use of resources, the realization of a fair distribution of wealth and revenue, and economic stability. The capital has looked towards the state in order to overcome the crisis of accumulation, and it aimed at the welfare state model. This study focuses on Keynes and the welfare state.
