Summary/Abstract: Both Lacan’s concept of subject and the esthetic concept using the achievements of psychoanalysis are answers to phenomenological crisis of French philosophy. A new type of esthetic experience result mostly from the collective authorship. Film is the first fully fledged mass art. Todd McGowan classifies films according to four categories: object – gaze, desire – fantasy. One of so-called desire films is Antonioni’s Blow-up. The core problem of the film is that the truth can only be reached by operations of magnifying, which in turn is only possible thanks to the medium of photography. The film perfectly illustrates the idea of Marshall McLuhan according to which the content of the medium is already another medium.
