Summary/Abstract: The text is an attempt to analyze the problems related to gender studies by means of performative instruments. Homosexuality of the main charakter of the novel under the same title, Adam Grywałd (1936) by Tadeusz Breza still calls for next interpretations, which will take into account both the traditional interpretations (Alfred Adler), and the most recent research ideas (German Ritz, relating the issue of sexual orientation with the literary language, in particular with the narration). The performative perspective shows the way to homosexuality as a complex process, in which the childhood, the heterosexual love disappointment, and the change is catalyzed by desire closed in the framework of love, sexual triangles and emotional polygons.
