Summary/Abstract: This study presents a series of guild objects that bear representations of patron saints of Transylvanian guilds. Guild flags from BistriŃa, from the Saint Nicholas Church are described, which belonged to the guilds of carpenters, tailors (Fig. 1 a-b), shoemakers (Fig. 2 a-b), coopers (Fig. 3 a-b) and hatters (Fig. 4 a-b.) Also covered is the carpenters’ aisle from the Black Church of Brasov (Fig. 5). The author relates briefly the lives of the patron saints of the guilds and gives the reasons why they were chosen as protectors
