Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to provide a semantic analysis of lexical units containing the {nieswój} and {nieswojo} segments. The application of a set of distributional procedures allowed me to single out the feature of the units in question which stands in stark contrast to the ones which are commonly considered to be synonymous, such as {zakłopotany}, {zażenowany}, {zmieszany}, {skrępowany}; they do not refer to clear-cut emotions. I have also pointed out the semantic difference between sentences that follow the construction patterns: {X jest nieswój} and {X-owi jest nieswojo} (X czuje się nieswojo).
