Summary/Abstract: Theme of this paper is the expatriate as a key responsibility holder for implementation of the international tasks and the problem of his acculturation. Research, conducted on the sample of students, analyses the relation between subjectively evaluated personality traits and estimated intensity of the impact of cross-cultural adaptation problems. The focus of research are the features unified by the “Big 5” personality traits’ model, which generate a tolerant, indiscriminative, open, stable and comprehensive profile ready to risk, uncertainty, differentiation, and prepared for many aspects in confrontation with international practice. These results indicate the desired profile of expatriate considering the possibility of adequate acculturation and overcoming the problems arising from this practice. Although the study was based largely on assumptions about the intensity of the problems that brings acculturation, obtained correlations between the examined personality traits and individual problems of acculturation are logical and expected.
