Summary/Abstract: About problem of nation in works of Stanislaw Staszic Nation can define as political-law or ethnical-lingual community. Stanislaw Staszic was one of most important Polish political philosophers of Age of Enlightenment. In XVIII century he thought that nation is a community of owners. After the partitions of the Polish‑Lithuanian Commonwealth he thought, that two elements constitute nationality: original and acquired. Nation can exist without own state too. After Congress of Vienna Staszic think, that Poles must participate in politics and same protect own language and culture. He holds that Poles are part of Slavic Tribe. Staszic thought that tribes are the really subjects of history and Poles must unite with other Slaves, especially with Russia — the most important state of Slaves. Staszic created finally the Slavophil Idea.
