Summary/Abstract: My paper deals with various (de) contamination processes and their globalising-localising responses and (over) reactions to internal and external cultural, social, economical and medical stimuli such as plague epidemics in the 17th century England or individual illness care and prevention in the 18th century health and social entertainment resorts like Bath. My attempt is to analyse common grounds and border transgression techniques in and of literary and medical discourses of the plague with breathing and bathing – two germ dissemination activities.
