Summary/Abstract: Introduction. The variety of job functions, importance and complexity of managerial staff duties require implementation of progressive forms and methods of their vocational competences development. The purpose: to determine the ways of managerial staff vocational competences development and to provide support for their implementation. Results. The definition of vocational competence allowed determining its structural components: personal (professional potential of an employee) and functional (skills). The appropriateness of programme-purpose oriented approach usage to develop vocational competences was proved. The recommendations of its application at enterprises of mechanistic and adaptive types (depending upon the progress level of the managerial staff vocational competences in terms of competences development and improvement) were worked out. Conclusions. The gained results testify to the appropriateness of programme purpose-oriented approach usage when solving the problem of the managerial staff vocational competences development taking into account enterprise uniqueness. Further authors` research will be aimed to develop the recommendations concerning the monitoring and countenance of the high level of staff vocational competences at a relevant organization.
