Summary/Abstract: The author tries to discover the possible scenarios for resolution of the "Kosovo knot" and examines what each of them would mean for Serbia and its politics. The author also outlines that the best deal that Serbia, under the condition that all factors that determine the Kosovo crisis remain the same, may get is the supervised division of Kosovo and Metohija. This would present neither a victory nor a defeat for Serbia but in football jargon it would be a "draw" and "division of scores" between Serbians and Albanians in Kosovo. The author believes that the proposed model of supervised division of Kosovo and Metohija would be an optimal way of preserving peace in the region, especially since this model is related to the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Finally, this article is more of a sketch which gives the general features of the strategy which would help in avoiding a new war in Kosovo than it represents a detailed and precisely developed concept. With the aim of preserving regional peace and stability it is proposed in the paper to give up the classical definition of sovereignty both for Serbs and Albanians and to accept a post-modern "divided sovereignty". This new concept may be implemented with the assistance of the international community through the proposed concept of supervised division of Kosovo and Metohija.
