Summary/Abstract: The author deals with two views on the global Internet culture influencing the countries of the Slavic area. The first part of the paper is devoted to the Internet visit rate in the countries mentioned above; the former USSR countries are added too. Based on this comparison the author divides three groups of the servers visited. The search engines make the first group, the second group consists of the “social servers”, and the third group is the entertainment servers. The author concludes that, within the global Internet culture, this area is consistent and many interfaces can be found. In the second part the author focuses on minor social, cultural and linguistic phenomena which van be observed in individual national Internet cultures. In the Russian world this is the “Padonki” movement, on the Czech Internet – the movement called EMO. The author primarily targets on the specific language of both groups which can be observed on the websites of both these movements as well as in various online discussions, blogs, and chats. The author finds many parallel phenomena in these minor groups and offers a possible socio-cultural interpretation of the genesis and identification of the given movements which is determined by “the humiliation phenomenon”.
