Summary/Abstract: Direct evidences of the reciprocal relations between the members of the Franciscan Province of ‘Bosnia Argentina’ and the families from which they originated during the Ottoman occupation are very rare. One of these is the letter of a Franciscan Marko Miletić (+ 1786), which he sent on the January 22, 1779 to his uncle Stjepan Miletić to Fojnica (middle Bosnia) from Ivanjska near Banja Luka (northwestern Bosnia). According to Marko’s narration it was written by his younger cousin Toma Miletić (1763-1831), who also, some months later, joined the Franciscan order. During this period Marko Miletić was a parish priest in Ivanjska and during Christmas and New Year’s Day his younger cousin Toma Miletić used to help him. Both of them were Stjepan Miletić’s nephews. As a Franciscan Toma Miletić has taken a name Augustin and a quarter of century later he became the auxiliary bishop of the bishop Grga Ilijić (1798-1813), the apostolic administrator of the Apostolic Vicariate in Bosnia Otthomana. After the bishop G. Ilijić’s death he became the bishop of the same Vicariate (1813-1831). This letter is a proof of a big dispute their uncle had with Marko Miletić’s sister about his father’s heritage that provoked a public disgrace. At the same time it explains the family relations within the Miletić lineage of Fojnica. From the same Miletić lineage, the Franciscan order also joined Toma Miletić (+ 1773), the defi nitor of the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Cross of ‘Bosna Argentina’ (1757), who later became the defi nitor of the Franciscan Province ‘Bosna Argentina’ (1758) and a young vicar of Duvno parish, Ludovicus who died of pest in 1832.
