Summary/Abstract: The creation of communist organization Cominform marked the start of a systematic propaganda campaign, masterminded by Agitprop, to marshal international support for Moscow against Western “imperialist” powers. The official message was disseminated through ist official journal, „For a Lasting Peace. For the Democracy of the People!” It may be said that its role was essentially that of the central and the most important propaganda instrument of the international Communist movement, designed primarily to provide public guidance and information to the readership of various national Communist parties. The purpose of this study is to gather details about the financing mode and the Romanian contribution, all from unpublished archival sources. Financial control ensured to the Soviet party the political control and the possibility to coordinate the Anti-Western propaganda activities of those nine Communist Parties members of Cominform.
