Summary/Abstract: The present article discusses the issue of the territorial and political separatism from the Republic of Moldova, which developed beginning with the second half of the year 1990, through the illegal creation of some enclaves – Transnistria, with its center at Tiraspol, a city situated on the Eastern side of the Nister river, and Gagauz, with its center at Comrat, an urban locality in the South of Bessarabia. These anti-constitutional enclaves were protected by certain political forces from Moscow, which used them as means of pressure over the Government from Chişinău, which aimed to promote the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova, for keeping intact the Soviet empire. The author analyses the reaction of the authorities from Chişinău and those of the secessionist forces from Tiraspol and Comrat at the requirements formulated in the decree of the Soviet president Mikhail Gorbatchev and emitted with a great delay in December 1990.
