Choosing conjugal partner and satisfaction regarding family and couple relationship

Summary/Abstract: In this study we tried to reveal the intensity with which manifests homogamia according to studies, occupation and age of the persons. We propose, also, to identify groups which have the greatest inner selection of the conjugal partner and, in the same time, to analyze the influence of the differences between partners (in terms of the homogamia criteria) on their satisfaction in relation to family and couple relationship. We concluded that homogamia manifests intensely depending on all the three analyzed criteria and the persons with a maxim level of selection from the own group are those with the lowest and the highest education level. Regarding occupation, we find that qualified workers and directors /owners /intellectuals have the highest level of partner selection from inner group; we could see, also, that young people and the elderly ones choose partners who have a similar age with their own. Moderate difference in terms of education, occupation and age influences slightly the degree of satisfaction of respondents in relation to family and couple relationship.
