Summary/Abstract: The modern contemporary society undergoes intensive structural changes that bring about real social mutations, especially within traditionally organized institutions. Therefore, the social organization of the family is influenced as well. Thus, it passes through a declining process and it seems that the modern society favours the replacement of the religious and traditional forms by other forms of conjugal organization such as: conjugal cohabitation, conjugal unions, the civil pact of solidarity etc. How is today’s family influenced by the modern social changes? Which are the social factors that influence the dynamics of the family? Which functions of the family are influenced by the contemporary social context and its evolution? What new forms of social organization may be generated in the near future and under what circumstances? These are some of the various questions that will be answered by the following analysis!
