The organisation’s performance measurement system – a subject and a tool for the efficiency improvement

Summary/Abstract: The scarcity of resources leads organizations to improve the allocation efficiency. In order the decisions taken in this regard led to the actual optimization, they should be taken on the basis of reliable and complete information. The critical tool for obtaining the necessary data is the performance measurement system (PMS), which, when properly constructed, not only enables the identification of improvement requiring areas, but also helps to avoid suboptimization. However, when constructing the performance measurement system, the aspect of efficiency should also be considered. This paper aims to highlight the role of the PMS in the organization efficiency improvement, as well as the issues regarding system efficiency itself.
