Visibilities Of Images

Summary/Abstract: The essay is dealing with differences caused by the change of the question of the image in a traditional perception of the art of the XX century and the changes stemming firstly from the mechanical reproduction, later video, and digitalizing of the image, as the latest development in the field. In this relation there are two complementary points of view. The first one is focused to the question of the image as a description of the socially given; the other is preoccupied with the linguistic paradigm, as the main motor of the visual art changes.
