The transformation of the citizen’s votes into uninominal seats in the Parliament

Summary/Abstract: The Parliamentary elections from December 2012 were held based on the electoral law 35/2008, that had a uninominal characteristics and transformed the candidates which lost the uninominal college into uninominal parliamentarian, deputies and senators, through the redistribution of the votes of those ranked on the second and third place and therefore the will of the citizens was transformed into uninominal seats, proportionally with the number of votes and the percentage obtained nationally. Even though the vote was thought as a majority one, the democracy of the ballot box, of the vote and of the political game has transformed it into a proportional vote as a consequence of the electoral law and of election result of the day of voting. The case study emphasized that even all the colleges were won by 50%+1, two or three parliamentarians were elected in the same college.
