Functioning and development prospects of agritourism farms in Białowieża municipality

Summary/Abstract: Agritourism farms are booming in Białowieża municipality in comparison with the north-eastern counties of Podlasie region. A large number of them do not have any agricultural land and do not deal with plant and animal production, thus they cannot be classified as tourism farms in line with the agritourism activity. However, they are listed as such and every year their number increases. Their development advantage are tourist attractions, mainly flora and fauna. It should be noted that all operating farms are located in the middle of Białowieża forest, and their owners do not seek categorization, as an indicator of the quality of services.
